Salmon Piccata with Lemon Caper Sauce

Bright, zesty, and effortlessly elegant — this Salmon Piccata with Lemon Caper Sauce is a weeknight dinner that tastes like it came from your favorite restaurant.

Seared salmon fillets are finished in a tangy, buttery sauce made with lemon juice, capers, garlic, and a splash of white wine. It’s light but rich, flavorful but fresh — and comes together in under 30 minutes.

Directions

Prepare the Salmon:

1. Pat salmon fillets dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
2. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
3. Sear the salmon for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

Make the Sauce:

4. In the same pan, add garlic and capers, sautéing for 1 minute until fragrant.
5. Pour in broth, lemon juice, and white wine (if using), scraping up any browned bits. Let simmer for 2 minutes.
6. Whisk in butter and Dijon mustard until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened.

Assemble & Serve:

7. Return salmon to the pan, spooning the sauce over the fillets. Simmer for 1-2 minutes.
8. Garnish with fresh dill or parsley and serve immediately
